Early work to help clients design a final brief to ensure that both client and TLC understand what can best be achieved is offered. Ian believes that empowering people to solve their own problems and develop skills that last for the future are critical. Using a model to explore the individuals Topic, Goals, Reality, Options, Will and Summary every coaching session delivers a take away. Mentoring can be added where appropriate with Ian providing examples of tools and past experience to help with the problem solving. It is common for both indivual, personal, and organisational issues and goals to be explored. Coaching sessions can be booked for one individual, teams or an organisation can block book a number of sessions to be used across a range of individuals e.g. 10, 25, 50 hours.
Ian's professional background is in these sectors and his philosophy is only to do work in areas that he loves. This is certainly the case in these areas. As a player, sports coach, graduate from Loughborough University and Vice Chair of Sports Wales Ian is able to offer strategic insight and assessments, develop feasibility, business and financial plans and work with sporting organisations to develop their capacity. Having worked in the culture, arts, heritage, libraries, and the museums sectors Ian is able to provide a unique offer to the cultural sector for those wanting to use culture to be at the heart of developing a place and improving peoples lives. Having worked in social enterprises, developing social sector plans for social growth and social value, Ian is able to support individual social enterprises and social sector development organisations to ensure that they and the sector are commercial with social values, can play a strong role in service provision, and are tender ready.
Having completed a Masters in Local Governance and regularly providing speeches, workshop for orgaisations and higher education Ian is able to develiver as part of a higer education programme, or through bespoke short courses designed with partners or can provide one off workshops or speeches. Ian is also able to work with small groups of people to tutor them over a set number of sessions on specific issues such as leadership, collaboration, partnering, negotiation.
